Population Gains and Losses in Northeast Ohio
Annual Census Bureau figures show exurban growth and core population decreases.
The U.S. Census Bureau recently released its annual population estimates for คาสิโนฟรีไม่มีเงินฝาก ไทยcities, villages, and townships. This was in addition the the county and metropolitan area population estimates issued in March. Between July 2016 and July 2017, Cuyahoga County’s population declined by an estimated 4,940 people, a 0.4% decrease. Between 2010 and 2017, the population decrease was an estimated 31,595 people, or 2.5% of the population. Surrounding counties continued to grow, with Lorain and Medina counties seeing the largest population increases. The five-county Cleveland-Elyria Metropolitan Statistical Area also saw a population decline, shrinking by an estimated 0.9% between 2010 and 2017.
The population figures at the community level show similar trends. Between 2010 and 2017, most of the region’s fastest-growing communities were outside of Cuyahoga County. Six cities and villages in Cuyahoga County saw population growth between 2010 and 2017, and the largest increase was in Pepper Pike (279 people, a 4.7% gain).
The cities that experienced the largest population declines were concentrated in Cuyahoga County.
